Consultation and Representation in Canon Law

Professional Canonical Services is a canon law firm providing consultation and representation in Canon Law in accord with the discipline of the Catholic Church.  With over ten years experience as a canon lawyer, Philip C. L. Gray has provided extensive canonical assistance to clergy, laity, and religious.  He has helped Catholics and non-Catholics, as well as apostolates and other groups of the faithful, with legitimate concerns in Canon Law.

Sacred Scripture and the moral teachings of the Catholic Church provide the necessary foundations for applying Canon Law in specific situations.  Of particular note, the Ten Commandments (Deuteronomy 5:6-21), The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12), and the Words of Jesus in Matthew 18:15-22 provide necessary norms to follow in all situations of our lives.  When these and other moral norms are ignored or neglected, contentions arise and virtue is compromised.  Philip C. L. Gray and the staff of Professional Canonical Services make every effort to apply these essential norms in each consultation.  Because sin breeds vice and the salvation of souls is the highest law and mission of the Church, we place emphasis on morality that follows the Gospel and the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.

Philip C. L. Gray's educational background includes studies in Philosophy, an undergraduate degree in Mental Health/Human Services and Theology, and licentiate and master's degrees in Canon Law.  His work experiences include positions as a social worker, counselor, tribunal administrator, adjunct professor of Theology and Canon Law, and vice-president of a non-profit apostolate dedicated to advancing and defending the Teaching Office of the Catholic Church.  Mr. Gray has published more than 50 articles through several different Catholic apostolates on a variety of topics.  He holds a mandate to teach the sacred sciences from the Bishop of Steubenville.  He has delivered talks at national and regional conferences as well as parish and small group gatherings.  His favorite speaking engagement was giving a talk at the International Theological Institute in Gaming, Austria on the influences of eastern law on the Canon Law of the Western Church .

In addition to consultation and representation in Canon Law, Philip C. L. Gray is available for speaking engagements and conference participation.  Contact Professional Canonical Services for availability and scheduling.  Select writings and canonical opinions can be found at this website on the Articles and Opinions pageA selection of his published writings can be found in the two volume work "Faith Facts: Answers to Catholic Questions" published by Emmaus Road Publishing.  Other written selections can be found at the website of the St. Joseph Foundation.

Happy the man who follows not the counsel of the wicked, nor walks in the way of sinners, nor sits in the company of the insolent, but delights in the law of the Lord and meditates on his law day and night" (Psalm 1:1-2).
